Protection of Human Dignity and Social Harmony Bill Presently, it has become imperative to device measures to suppress the surreptitious efforts emerging and the incident of harassment, revenge, intimidation and threat through electronic media to create social unrest and the religious and communal disharmony among the general public, damaging the human dignity and social harmony.
As such, the proposal made by Hon. (Mrs.) Thalatha Atukorala, the Minister of Justice, to formulate legislation to enable to take action against the efforts made to violate the privacy of each individual and to create religious, racial or communal disharmony among the general public treating them as offences, was approved by the Cabinet |
