Amendment to the Online Safety Act No.9 of 2024

- The Cabinet, at its meeting held on 2025 02 09, granted approval to amend the Online Safety Act No.9 of 2024. Accordingly, taking into consideration the joint Note to the Cabinet submitted by the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs and the Minister of Justice and National Integration, the Cabinet granted its concurrence to appoint a Committee under the Chairmanship of an Hon. Judge of the Supreme Court representing all relevant sectors to submit recommendations to amend the said Bill by incorporating already identified amendments and those to be identified after public consultation, was approved by the Cabinet.
