Construction of Surgical Wards and Operation Theatre Complex in the District General Hospital in Moneragala

- The limited accommodation available in the District General hospital Moneragala, which is the only hospital which provides a secondary level health service for the population exceeding 500,000 in the Moneragala District, comprising of a number of extremely difficult Divisional Secretariat Divisions, has become an obstacle for providing a qualitative health service to the people. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine, for the construction of Surgical Wards and Operation Theatre Complex in the District General Hospital in Moneragala to enable to overcome the said problem, was approved by the Cabinet.
