Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2019-08-06

Granting a period of moratorium for the payment of the Tourism Development Levy (TDL) for Tourism Institutions registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA)

- The Cabinet having considered the proposal made by the Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs on granting a moratorium for a certain period of time for the payment of the Tourism Development Levy by the Tourism Institutions registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, since the tourism industry in Sri Lanka has been severely affected due to the Easter Sunday terrorist attack on the 21st of April 2019, decided to grant a moratorium period of six months from the 01st of January 2019 to pay the Levy and to re charge the same once again in 12 equal installments, was approved by the Cabinet.
