Amendment and re-establishment of Irrigation reservations for Irrigation schemes, structures and water bodies

- Focus has been made to launch a sustainable programme to identify the requirements for the protection of irrigation reservations in order to maintain irrigation schemes properly and presently, the suitable boundaries for future needs have been identified by reviewing the existing irrigation reservations. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development and to declare the boundaries of reservations and conservation lands for irrigation schemes, structures and water bodies through a gazette notification as the orders relevant to the present Irrigation Ordinance with the concurrence of the Attorney General and subsequently, table the said regulations in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
