Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2019-07-30

Allocation of plots of lands to the Department of Measurement Units, Standards & Service, Department of Educational Publications, Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment and Sri Lanka Telecom

- The Urban Development Authority has acquired an extent of 34.0 hectares of land from Mahenawatta situated at Pitipana in Homagama for the development of activities associated with science and technology and to establish the related institutes. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Megapolis & Western Development, to allocate plots of lands to the Department of Measurement Units, Standards & Service to establish a National Laboratory of Measurement, to the Department of Educational Publications to construct a Store Complex for the text books, to the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment to construct a Training Centre and to the Sri Lanka Telecom to establish a Data Centre, was approved by the Cabinet.
