Recruitment and training of unemployed Graduates as Graduate Trainees

- Under the project for the Recruitment of unemployed Graduates, the approval of the Cabinet has been granted previously, to recruit 5,000 unemployed graduates who have completed their degrees as internal students of the State Universities, in Stage 1 and, also for the recruitment of 15,000 graduates for training, in Stage 2. However, 1,800 vacancies out of those recruited under Stage 1 and 15,000 vacancies in Stage 2 still remain. Accordingly, the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs brought to the notice of the Cabinet that action will be taken expeditiously to fill the 16,800 vacancies that remain by initially recruiting the graduates of the year 2012 and subsequently from those of the year 2013 to 2016 respectively as trainees.
