Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation

- Mediation is an important form of dispute resolution which has the ability to achieve mutually acceptable solutions and preserve commercial relationships while saving time and cost. The United Nations General Assembly, in the year 2018, adopted the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation (“the Convention”) and accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Justice & Prison Reforms to sign the Convention, on behalf of Sri Lanka, was approved by the Cabinet.
