Recommendation of Additional Amendments to the Construction Industry Development Act, No.33 of 2014

- The approval of the Cabinet has been granted previously, to amend the Construction Industry Development Act, No.33 of 2014 to suit the present trends. Accordingly, the Legal Draftsman has prepared a preliminary draft and the Construction Industry Development Authority as well as the Chamber of Construction Industry including several stakeholder institutions in the construction industry have pointed out the need for the provisions to be further included in the draft Act, to prevent the malpractices and under performances existing in the industry, at present. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs, to amend the said Bill incorporating the above additional amendments, was approved by the Cabinet.
