Improving the learning environment of the schools in the Killinochchi District

- The Government has taken steps for implementing various projects to conduct the educational activities of the Kilinochchi area in a high qualitative standard, which has slumped in to a backward position owing to the conflict situation that prevailed there for three decades. Accordingly, a project for the development of the infrastructure in the schools of the Kilinochchi District was implemented since 2011, with a grant of US$ 2 million by the Korea International Cooperation Agency and the facts submitted by the Minister of Education to the effect that an extension to the project will be implemented with a grant of US$ 7.5 million to upgrade the educational activities of selected 13 schools in the Kilinochchi District during the period from 2018 to 2022, was noted by the Cabinet.
