Construction of the Outdoor Patient Department (OPD), Theatre and the Ward Complex at the National Eye Hospital of Sri Lanka

- It has been recognized the necessity of further development of the Sri Lanka National Eye Hospital, the tertiary health care hospital which provides services to all eye related ailments, in Sri Lanka in accordance with the international standards. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine, to construct a 14 storey building with adequate accommodation for an OPD, Wards, Clinics, Theatres and facilities for diagnosis of diseases and other supporting services, with an investment of Rs.4,565 million, to provide a better quality eye treatment service to the beneficiaries as a state‑of the art‑hospital in the country, under the 'Hospital Development Master Plan of 2016 - 2025', was approved by the Cabinet.
