Construction of the Professorial Unit at the Teaching Hospital in Ratnapura

- The Provincial General Hospital in Ratnapura was upgraded as a Teaching Hospital in year 2018 with a view to facilitate the clinical training for Medical Students of the newly established Medical Faculty in the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, and it has been recognized the requirement of providing necessary facilities for clinical training to the students enrolled at the said Medical Faculty. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine, to construct the Professorial Unit as a six storey building with an investment of Rs.4,324.22 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
