Empowering Police Officers on matters pertaining to Illicit Liquor

- The approval of the Cabinet has been granted previously, to amend the Excise Ordinance to empower the police officers to institute legal action on matters pertaining to illicit liquor. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance to present the draft Bill so prepared, in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
