Selection of a Solution Provider for the Introduction of the Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) into the Public Procurement System

- The approval of the Cabinet has been granted previously for the implementation of the recommendations of the Working Group appointed for the introduction of e-GP system into the Public Procurement System in Sri Lanka, representing a wider range of stakeholders including the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC). Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance, to select 'Theekshana'; the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) arm of the University of Colombo which is the ICT solution provider for the Government Organizations and which already contributes towards the planning and development activities of this project and to enter in to an Agreement with the said institution, was approved by the Cabinet.
