Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resources Development Scholarship Programme

- The Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resources Development Scholarship Programme has been introduced by the Government of Japan in the year 2010, in order to provide opportunities to the executive level public sector officials of Sri Lanka to undergo Master Degree Programmes in the recognized universities in Japan. The first, second and the third frameworks of this programme were implemented in the years 2010-2013, 2014-2017 and 2018-2021 respectively and the selection process of the second batch of the third framework of the said programme has already been completed. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance to enter into an agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency to obtain a credit facility of Japanese Yen 263 million to provide facilities for the said batch, was approved by the Cabinet.
