Introduction of 'Gama Rakuma' organizations at the Grama Niladhari Division level to assist in the maintenance of national security

- The contribution of the security forces as well as every citizen is essential to restore normalcy in the lives of the General Public and their economic situation and assure safety in their minds adversely affected as a result of the terrorist attacks which occurred in the Easter Sunday. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, to establish a voluntary peoples' organization known as 'Gama Rakuma' covering every Grama Niladhari Division of the Island which could assist the authorities in fulfilling the multi-faceted security requirements of the people and to provide the necessary facilities for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
