Expanding the financial facilities granted under the 'Enterprise Sri Lanka' Programme
- Seventeen interest subsidy loan schemes, 03 re-financing loan schemes and 02 non-financial programme are implemented for small and medium entrepreneurs, youth, female entrepreneurs, self employers, graduates and migrant workers through the 'Enterprise Sri Lanka', a premier programme of the Government and under this programme, approximately Rs.81 billion has been granted as loans to its beneficiaries. Taking into consideration the requests made by different parties who contribute towards the national development, the loan schemes such as Ran Aswenna, Riya Shakthi, Home Sweet Home, Sihina Maliga, City Ride, Jaya Isuru, Mini Taxi/ Electric Three Wheeler, My Future have been amended in order to expand the benefits and reliefs provided through the existing loan schemes operating under the budget 2019 and to minimize the technical issues encountered in implementing such loan schemes. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance, to implement such amendments, was approved by the Cabinet.
