Construction of a Frontispiece (Wahalkada) at the entrance to the access road of the Polonnaruwa Sacred City

- It has been planned to develop the zone associated with the Polonnaruwa sacred city as a world heritage city in concurrence with the 'Pibidemu Polonnaruwa' District Development Programme. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs, to construct a frontispiece at the Hathamuna junction, the access point to the sacred city, to display the ancient grandeur of the Polonnaruwa Kingdom to draw the attraction of the tourists visiting the City of Polonnaruwa, was approved by the Cabinet.
