Vocational Training and Development of the Small and Mdium Enterprises

- The German Government has consented to provide technical assistance of Euro 11 million to develop vocational training activities, to remove the impediments encountered by small and medium enterpruners and to implement a project for providing technical assistance and out of which, it is anticipated to utilize Euro 7 million to upgrade the vocational training activities in Matara and Kilinochchi Vocational training centres and another Euro 3.5 million to be utilized for the programmes that carry out to enhance the global competitiveness of small and medium scale enterpruners. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance, to enter into a Memorondum of Understanding with the Germany to obtain technical assistance of Euro 11 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
