Improvement of the distribution network of the Ceylon Electricity Board

- A project for the purchase of accessories required for the improvement of the distribution network of the Ceylon Electricity Board will be implemented with the financial aid of the Asian Development Bank. The purchase of the necessary equipment in respect of this project has been planned to be carried out under 09 packages. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development, to award the contract for the purchase of items under Package 5 Lot 5 to M/s Leader Cable Industry Berhad for a sum of US$ 3.17 million and Rs.9.43 million as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
