Kalu Ganga Water Supply Expansion Project - Awarding of the Consultancy Services Contract of Phase I

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted previously to obtain a credit facility of Japanese Yen 31,810 million for the Phase I of the Kalu Ganga Water Supply Expansion Project and to enter into a loan agreement for the purpose with the Japan International Corporation Agency. Through this project, it is anticipated to increase the water supply efficiency in the Southern Area of Western Province, supply of safe drinking water and to improve the water supply networks in Dehiwala and Moratuwa. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education to award the above contract for the supply of consultancy services to M/s Nihon Studio Consultants Co. Ltd, the joint venture of M/s TEC International Co. Ltd, of Japan, M/s Ceywater Consultants (pvt) Ltd., of Sri Lanka and M/s Resources Development Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd, of Sri Lanka for a sum of Japanese Yen 558.32 million and Rs.773.19 million, as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Consultancy Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
