Providing facilities for the Field Officers in Charge of the subject of Culture dealing with field duties at the District/Divisional Level

- The Department of Cultural Affairs which performs its mission as the fore runner of the culture of Sri Lanka with the preservation of arts components associated with the culture to bequeath them to the future generation and to showcase our own identity to the world, renders its services through the field officers in‑charge of the subject of culture attached to the District and Divisional level offices of the Department. Programmes pertaining to preservation, promotion and propagation of the cultural heritage are organized by the said officers who are in‑charge of the subject of culture at District level while also making their contribution towards the 'Dolosmahe Programme' and other programmes related thereto. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs seeking provisions to provide the officers further with the necessary facilities for them to promote the qualitative aspect of their service, was approved by the Cabinet.
