Establishment of a Temperature Controlled Warehouse complex in Dambulla
- The approval of the Cabinet had been granted previously to establish a six chamber 5,000 MT capacity Temperature Controlled Warehouse Complex in Dambulla where fresh agri produce could be stored. The Government of India will grant financial assistance amounting to Rs.300 million to cover the cost of the project. The contract for the constructions from the said finances has been awarded to the Joint Venture formed by M/s SAW Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. and LQ Import Export (Pvt.) Ltd. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, at the request of the Non‑Cabinet Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution, to get the balance work of the warehouse complex completed through the said contractor for a sum of Rs.225 million and also to secure the other facilities necessary in this respect, was approved by the Cabinet.
