Drafting of legislation to provide a definition for "child and youthful person"

- Taking into consideration the various issues due to the varied definitions found in several Acts of Sri Lanka with regard to the definition of 'Child and Youthful person, the proposal made by Hon.(Mrs.) Thalatha Atukorala, Minister of Justice & Prison Reforms, to amend the Children and Young Persons Ordinance to define a person less than 18 years of age as a child and to amend the Youthful Offenders (Training Schools) Ordinance to define a person between the ages of 18 and 22 as a youthful person, was approved by the Cabinet.
