Construction of muti-storey houses in the developed area adjoining the Beira Lake (TRCSL)

- It has been proposed to convert the area adjoining the Beira Lake into a commercial city and to generate job opportunities in the area and develop the houses, vehicle parks and shopping complexes in a proper way so as to attract the tourists. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs to acquire the lands required to carry out a project for the construction of a muti‑storey housing project within the land in extent of 83 perches identified near the Beira Lake from the National Housing Development Authority, as its first phase, and to secure the other facilities necessary, was approved by the Cabinet.
