Entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka and the Michigan State University of the United State of America

- It has been proposed to sign an MOU between the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka and the Michigan State University of the United State of America with a view to studying the social and economic conditions of the labourers in the tea sector in various angles, averting the labour shortage and implementing projects for enhancing the labour efficiency. This will provide the necessary facilities to facilitate and enhance the teaching, research and extension activities. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Navin Dissanayake, the Minister of Plantation Industries to enter into the said MOU, was approved by the Cabinet.
