Restructuring the Measurement Units, Standards and Services Department

- It has been identified that the administration activities, scheme of recruitment, procurement process and the duties related to weight and measures of the Measurement Units, Standard and Services Department which carries out duties under the subject areas of Scientific, Industrial and Legal measurement have to be restructured in order to render its services more effectively and efficiently. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, the Minister of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co‑operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development to appoint an Experts' Committee to make a study in that regard and submit the necessary recommendations, was approved by the Cabinet.
