Provision of funds amounting to Rs.5,000 million for the construction of the 17 Storey Building for the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Colombo

- The approval of the Cabinet had been granted previously to award the contract for the construction of the 17 Storey Building for the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Colombo and to provide a funding facility amounting to Rs.5,000 million to the contractor. Accordingly, an Agreement has been reached to provide a fund amounting to Rs.5,000 million through the Bank of Ceylon for the necessary constructions in this regard. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance, to make the facilities necessary for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
