Renovation of the Anandakuti Maha Viharaya and Ratho Machchnidranath Hindu Kovil in Nepal
- The approval of the Cabinet had been granted previously to renovate the Anandakuti Maha Viharaya in Swayamboonath and Ratho Machchnidranath Hindu Kovil in Lalitppor in Nepal which were damaged due to the earth quake that took place in Nepal by the Government of Sri Lanka. As of now, a sum of Rs.293.5 million has been incurred for the renovation activities and a physical progress of about 84% and 43% respectively in the construction work of the Anandakuti Maha Viharaya and the Ratho Machchnidranath Hindu Kovil have been achieved. Accordingly, considering the proposal made by Hon. Gamini Jayawickrema Perera, the Minister of Buddhasasana & Wayamba Development, to secure the additional provision required further, for the completion of the project, the Cabinet has granted approval to provide an additional allocation of Rs. 114 million for the purpose.
