Construction of 33kV Distribution Lines and Gantries under Tranch 2 of the Green Power Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement Investment Project

- The Asian Development Bank under Tranch 2 of the Green Power Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement Investment Project has granted a credit facility of US$ 150 million and Euro 30 million for strengthening the transmission and distribution network of the Ceylon Electricity Board. It has been designed to implement the projects under 06 packages and one consultancy services contract using this credit facility and the proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development, to award the contract for the construction of distribution lines of 33kv and Gantries under its package 4, to M/s Ceylex Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd, at a sum of Rs.2,708 million, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
