Construction of a Specialized Maternity Center at the De Zoysa Hospital for Women

- Pregnant mothers who suffer complications such as heart deceases, diabetic and high blood pressure, visit the De Zoysa Hospital which provides service to the pregnant mothers who come from various parts of the Island for delivery and other treatments. It has been proposed to construct a Specialized Maternity Center in this Hospital in view of providing the said mothers with more qualitative health care facilities. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine to award the contract for the said constructions to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau/Engineering Service (Pvt) Ltd at a sum of Rs. 249.8 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
