Purchasing of Coal for the Coal Power Plant in Puttalam

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted for the purchase of coal urgently required for the Coal Power Plant in Puttalam under the Spot Tender Procedure,. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development, to purchase 300,000 MT of coal for the said Power Plant from M/s Adani Global Pte. Ltd at the rate of US $ 81.87 per MT of coal, as recommended by the Special Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
