Establishment of the Education Inspection Service Institution

- The proposal made by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Minister of Education for the establishment of an affiliated institution to the Ministry of Education, named as 'Education Inspection Service' to ensure the accountability and responsibility of all stakeholders who deal with education for making a novel inspection and evaluation culture aimed at promoting the qualitative development in the school education system, suited to the present day needs, to establish the same at sub‑institutional level in all provinces and to establish an independent 'Education Accreditation Board' to make appropriate recommendations by analyzing the findings made by the Education Inspection Service, was approved by the Cabinet.
