The National Policy on Early Childhood Care and Development - 2018

- The need has arisen to update the National Policy on Early Childhood Care and Development introduced in the year 2004, considering the local and the global trends and the sphere of changes that had since taken place. Accordingly, when the National Policy on Early Childhood Care and Development - 2018 was presented to the Cabinet at an earlier occasion, instructions have been given to further update it, taking into consideration the observations made so as to represent the various fields in that regard. As such, the proposal made by Hon. (Mrs.) Chandrani Bandara, the Minister of Women & Child Affairs and Dry Zone Development, to implement the National Policy on Early Childhood Care and Development amended accordingly, under a proper strategic plan, at National, Provincial, District, Divisional and Rural levels, was approved by the Cabinet.
