Provision of clean drinking water to the people of the Districts affected by the Chronic Kidney Disease

- The Cabinet of Ministers has granted its approval previously, to implement the project for upgrading the water treatment plant in Lunugamwehera and Kirindi Oya by utilizing the funds amounting to Rs.298 million under the programme for the provision of clean drinking water to the people of the districts affected by the chronic kidney disease. As such, the joint proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education and Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs, to implement the project for the laying of pipe line necessary for the distribution of water by the Kirindi Oya water treatment plant so upgraded, to the 217 housing units constructed at the Hon. Narendra Modi Model Village in the Thissamaharamaya Divisional Secretariat Division by using the funds set apart for the National Housing Programme, was approved by the Cabinet.
