Renovation activities further necessary at the Seven-storey building complex of the Negambo District General Hospital

- The Cabinet of Ministers has granted its approval previously, to award the contract for the renovation of the seven-storey building complex of the Negambo District General Hospital to the State Development and Construction Corporation at an estimated cost of Rs.500 million. While the renovation activities are being carried out, the hospital authority has proposed several more renovation activities necessary to be done at the building complex. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine to amend the total cost estimate of the project from Rs.500 million to Rs.692.43 million, to make enable the essential activities such as, the improvements to be made to the theatre and the installation of the waste water drainage system, was approved by the Cabinet.
