Recruitment of 7,500 Trainee Project Assistants

- Close monitoring and supervision of the development projects have become an essential factor for the effective implementation of the said projects. It has been proposed to make the unemployed youths who have studied up to the GCE (A/L) as partners in the national development process by making them involved in the said process. Accordingly, it has been planned to recruit 7,500 Trainee Project Assistants to the Ministry of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs, to appoint the candidates so selected to the posts of Trainee Project Assistants for a period of one year on contract basis and pay them each a monthly allowance of Rs.15,000/-, was approved by the Cabinet.
