Implementation of the National Drug Prevention Programme: 'A Drug Free Country'

- The Cabinet of Ministers had granted its approval previously for the establishment of a National Authority for the rehabilitation of persons addicted to drugs and for importing and making use of the modern equipment for the identification of injurious drugs in order to further extend the activities pertaining to the creation of a drug free country. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, to appoint an Advisory Committee for the expeditious implementation of the said programme, until such Authority is established, was approved by the Cabinet.
