Procurement of 03 STS Cranes to increase the Deep Berth Capacity of the Jaya Container Terminal

- A project has been planned to be implemented by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority to increase the capacity of the Deep Berth Capacity of the Jaya Container Terminal (JCT) to enhance the advantage of handling the larger container vessels arriving at the Port of Colombo. As a component of the said project, approval was granted by the Cabinet to award the contract for the purchase of 3 cranes of Ship to Shore to M/s Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., in accordance with the recommendation of the Cabinet Appointed Appointed Procurement Committee. According to the said approval, the proposal made by Hon. Sagala Ratnayaka, the Minister of Ports & Shipping and Southern Development, to proceed with the future activities of the procurement procedure, was approved by the Cabinet.
