Development of 28 Solar Power Projects in Anuradhapura, Vavunathive, Maho, Pannala and Valachchanai

- The Government has planned to convert approximately 60% of the power sector into renewable energy by 2030. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development for the purchase of 1 Kilowatt hour (kWh) at a rate between Rs.12.84 to Rs.15.93 from 28 investors as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Negotiation Committee for the development of 28 Solar Power Plants of 1 MV in Anuradhapura, Vavunathive, Maho, Pannala, and Valachchanai under the “Sooryabala Sangramaya”, was approved by the Cabinet.
