Increasing of Mahapola Scholarship Installment granted to the students of the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education

- Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education is one of the prime institutes established in Sri Lanka for awarding the Higher National Diploma in Technological Education and over 20,000 students presently study at 19 regional centres. The Mahapola and Bursary granted to the students who follow higher education have been increased in the year 2015 and currently a Rs.5000/- monthly installment of Mahapola and a Rs.4000/- monthly installment of Bursary are paid for University students and Rs.1500/- monthly installment of Mahapola is being paid to each student of the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education, to increase the monthly installment of Rs.1500/- being paid to the students of the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education up to Rs.2500/-, was approved by the Cabinet.
