Presidential Media Awards Ceremony

- The Cabinet of Ministers has previously granted approval to conduct a Presidential Media Awards Ceremony annually, for the encouragement of journalists. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance to award a cash price as well, for the prospective award recipients to be felicitated and the life time award winners, and to admire and award an honorarium to the journalists experts working in the Editorial Board and the journalist who produce academic write-ups and critiques, as a matter of appreciation, was approved by the Cabinet.
