Transfer of lands for the accelarated implementation of the Kankesanthurai Harbour

- An Agreement has been entered into, for securing of the necessary funds with the collaboration of the Government of India for the development of the Kankesanthurai Harbour and hence, it is necessary to transfer lands for the implementation of the said project expeditiously. As such, it has been found that it is appropriate to transfer the lands in extent of 15 acres belonging to the Sri Lanka Cement Corporation over to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development, Vocational Training & Skills Development and Youth Affairs, to transfer the said 15 acres to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, was approved by the Cabinet.
