Digital Economy Strategy for Sri Lanka: 2018-2025
- Digital Economy Strategy for Sri Lanka has been designed in collaboration with the international level consultants and the representatives of the relevant institutions. In order to accelerate the economic growth based on the digital technology, this strategy includes a three-part framework with digitization of priority sectors in the economy, accelerating growth and improvement of digital sectors and building the required digital infrastructure. Under, this strategy, three Flagship Programmes of Digitally Enabled Export Promotion Zone and “Logistic Villages”, Centralized Agriculture Nerve Center and Data Exchange Platform are expected to be implemented. Further, it has also been scheduled for 10 priority projects including the digitalized projects to be completed within 03 years. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, on the request made by the Non‑Cabinet Ministry of Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology, for the proposed digital strategy, was approved by the Cabinet.
