Tentative Programme for the Budget Debate for the Financial Year 2019

- The Budget Speech containing the Budget proposals for the year 2019 (the second reading of the Budget) is scheduled to be presented in Parliament on the 5th of March 2019. Accordingly, it is scheduled for the second reading of the Budget debate to be had from 2019‑03‑06 to 2019‑03‑12, the Committee Stage debate to be had from 2019‑03‑13 to 2019‑04‑05 and the Voting on the Budget to be conducted on 2019‑04‑05. The facts presented by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister pertaining to the said Budget programme, was noted by the Cabinet.
