Upliftment of Rural young men and women through the Youth Farmer Cooperative Village Programme

- 'The Youn Puraya 2019' National Programme is scheduled to be held in March in the Hambantota District and plans have been made concurrently to get the rural young men and women to participate in the production process. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, Minister of Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs, to grant a land of 15 perches to the unmarried young men and women who can make a contribution to the production process, to build their own house, as a special one-off incentive a farming land of 40 perches in extent for agricultural activities, to provide them with the necessary guidance and to get them to contribute to the national economy through the Youth Farmer Cooperative Programme, was approved by the Cabinet.
