Development of sanitary facilities in the Kataragama and Kebilitta Area

- The Kataragama sacred city which earns the respect of pilgrims and tourists, is a city with a high tourist attraction. Around over 10 thousand people visit this city per day over the weekend and during the Perehera Season it exceeds 05 lakhs per day. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis & Western Development, to establish sanitary facilities in the Kataragama and Kebilitta areas for the use of these devotees and tourists at a cost of Rs.50 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
