Purchase of spare parts necessary for the major Overhauling of the Plants at the Sapugaskanda Power Station according to the prevailing operational pattern

- Major Overhauling is required in respect of the Engine Nos. 5 to 8 after 12,000 running hours and the Engine Nos. 9 to 12 after 6,000 running hours of the Sapugaskanda Power Station. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development, to award the contract for the purchase of the spare parts for the overhauling of the Engines compulsorily needed after the completion of the said running hours to M/s MAN Energy Solutions SE of Germany, the original manufacturer of these Engines as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
