Implementation of the Projects for the years 2019 - 2021 utilizing the grants provided by the Global Fund

- The Global Fund has been established to provide funds for the programmes carried out with the objective of preventing the three infectious diseases namely, HIV AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria which have become a serious health problem affected globally. The Ministry of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine has entered into Agreements to obtain grants worth of US$ 76 million and out of which utilizing US$ 61 million, several projects have been implemented. The Global Fund has allocated a grant of US$ 12.3 million for the period from 2019 - 2021. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine to secure the grant, pertaining to the Agreement entered into, was approved by the Cabinet.
