Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2019-01-14

Carrying out development activities of the ten Urban Parks in the Jaffna City and the Neighbourhood

- The Parks namely, the Pannai Urban Market Place, Lagoon Front Park, Sangiliyan Park, Oddumadam Lagoon Park, Fort Surrounding Park and Rasavinthoddum Square, Russell Square, Passiyoor Pocket Park and Kurunagar Beach Road Square situated in the Jaffna District have been identified for development and improvement. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis & Western Development, to award the contract for consultancy in regard to concept and detail designs, preparation of bidding documents and construction supervision pertaining to the appropriate urban development interventions, to the Urban Development Authority, was approved by the Cabinet.
